Forget the label. What do you actually believe?

Your job. Your home. Your choices. Twenty imagined situations put you in the story, each with real trade-offs. You’ll see the priorities behind your choices first—then which party platforms share them, and where none do.

01 · The idea

Not another “agree or disagree” quiz

  1. 01

    Trade-offs, not talking points

Nobody is against “a strong economy.” So each story spells out the trade-offs, and you decide what you’re willing to give up.

  2. 02

    Principles first

Your results open with five tensions—like who should carry economic risk, or who should make the rules—traced to your own choices.

  3. 03

    Parties second, with sources

Then you’ll see how 7 parties’ current platforms line up, with every position cited—and a plain “no close match” when nothing fits.

02 · How it works

One story at a time

Imagine it’s happening to you: a layoff, a rent search, a decision about your care. Each story has four defensible answers. You choose the rule for anyone in that situation. None is labeled, none is the “nice” one, and none maps neatly onto a party.

  • It depends?Say on what, and which way you’d lean—or leave it conditional.
  • Not sure, or rather not say?Skipped and uncertain answers stay unanswered. We never count them as “moderate.”
Story 01 · Jobs & wagesTry it

You lose your job.

Picture yourself here

You get laid off when your workplace closes. You could take a lower-paying job nearby, but training for a different career would take several months. Your savings won’t last that long.

What help should be available to you and others in this situation?

What would you choose?
03 · Your results

A profile you’ll recognize

Each dot is one of your answers. When they cluster, that’s a steady principle. When they spread out, you weigh that trade-off by situation—which is common, and worth noticing. Only after that do we show which platforms overlap with yours.

Who we compare

We compare the two major parties plus every smaller party that (1) appeared on the 2024 presidential ballot in at least seven states and (2) publishes a national platform that addresses most of these questions. Each is judged only by its own current published positions. “Independent” isn’t a party, so it isn’t on the list—but “no close match” is a real possible result.
